George Floyd Vigil: 8 minutes of Silence and Solidarity
June 2, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 6:10 pm
Take a knee for George Floyd.
The murder of George Floyd has affected so many across the country, and even the world.
We in Jersey City want to show our solidarity for those that are experiencing the pain of the incident now, and every person that has experienced systemic racism in their lives.
This has got to end. The system has to change. We are in this together and together we can make our voices heard.
Join us on Tuesday, June 2nd at 6pm in Jersey City, whether it be on Newark Ave in the pedestrian plaza, or outside of your home and let us take a knee together. In solidarity and with clarity of what is going on in our world.
For 8 minutes, we ask you all to take a knee in silence and contemplate how to come together to make us all truly equal. Because we are not. And it is enough.
“In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”. – MLK
